Dr. Ray D. Strand graduated from the University of Colorado Medical School and finished his post-graduate training at Mercy Hospital in San Diego, California. He worked at his private family practice for thirty-five years, and over the past 15 years, has focused his practice on the importance of nutritional medicine. Dr. Strand has become internationally recognized on the subject of nutritional medicine and lectures across the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Malaysia.
Dr. Strand and his wife, Elizabeth, live on their beautiful ranch in the Black Hills of South Dakota. They have three grown children: Donny, Nick and Sarah, and enjoy time with their five wonderful grandchildren.
They attend Rimrock Evangelical Free Church in Rapid City, SD and are faithful supporters of ministries which help individuals pursue health: physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Bill Ewing and his wife, Nancy, were born and raised in South Dakota. Bill met His Savior at the age of 16 at a David Wilkerson Crusade and has passionately pursued that relationship ever since. Bill graduated from the University of Wyoming where he earned a BA in Criminal Law and Psychology. Bill and Nancy were married in 1975 and began their professional baseball travels. After a career-ending injury Bill began his study of Biblical Counseling through the Master’s Degree program at the Oklahoma City Branch of the International School of Theology.
In 1981 Bill and Nancy followed God’s lead to Rapid City to be closer to family and to launch Christian Life Ministries. God immediately brought wonderful people alongside them to establish, help fund, and provide prayer support for CLM. God has faithfully brought hurting people through the doors of CLM day after day, year after year.
Along with counseling, Bill & Nancy developed a Lay Counseling Training course for: biblical counselors, laymen, professional counselors, health professionals and pastors. Bill also co-founded and served as a board member for seven years for the International Association of Biblical Counselors and is currently a member of Exchanged Life Biblical Counselors.
Bill was ordained as a pastor in 1996 through the Evangelical Church Alliance, Bradley, IL. He continues to counsel and teach at CLM, although the Lord has brought more and more traveling opportunities. He has participated in many seminars sponsored by such organizations as the Billy Graham Association, the United States Air Force, Athletes in Action, Campus Crusade for Christ and various churches throughout the world.
Bill has co-authored two books, Rest Assured, and Living by Design. In both, his passion for his Lord and for people to know his Lord is apparent. The Ewing’s are happy to have two of their three sons and their families living in Rapid City, SD; with one son and his family currently living in Ogden, UT.
Dr. Terry L Altstiel and his wife, Charleen, were born and raised in South Dakota. Dr. Altstiel attended the University of South Dakota School of Medicine. He performed his residency in General Surgery through the Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD, 1980-85. He became Board Certified in General Surgery 1986. His family moved to the Black Hills in 1985 when he began his surgical practice as a Staff Surgeon at the Fort Meade VAMC in Sturgis, SD. In 1987, he became Chief of Surgery at Fort Meade Hospital. In 1994 he started a private practice, Queen City Medical Center, in the Northern Hills with several other physicians. He practiced as a General Surgeon in the Black Hills until 2015, when he transitioned full-time as the Chief Medical Officer for Regional Health Physicians. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Altstiel has been active in church for most of his adult years and is passionate about studying and applying the Scriptures to every day life. In 1995, He and Char helped start the Foothills Community PCA Church in Sturgis, SD. He loves to learn truths found in Scripture and pass them along to other members of the church by serving as a Presbyterian Church of America Ordained Ruling Elder and Teacher.
Dr. Altstiel and Char have four grown children; two married with children, one living in Madison, WI and their youngest is attending Black Hills State. They enjoy having all of their grandchildren in the Black Hills area.
Kim Reed, and his wife Pam, are South Dakota natives and recent retirees to Rapid City, SD.
Kim’s career spanned 38 years with two companies, Ralston Purina and Ralcorp. He held several positions during his career, with the most recent being VP and CPO. His capable team managed a budget exceeding three billion dollars. Also during his business career, he served as a board member on several industry associations.
He has been active in several not for profit associations such as: Big Brothers, Junior Achievement, Chambers of Commerce, Westminster Christian Academy (a premier Christian school in Saint Louis, MO, where he served as board president)
Kim has been active in church throughout his life. Serving as an elder, youth and adult teacher, and even filling the pulpit on occasion. Kim and Pam are currently members of Parkview Evangelical Free Church in Rapid City.
Kim and his wife Pam have two grown children. Son Nick is in the Air Force, and daughter Cassidie, who along with husband Ronny and their grandson, currently reside in Switzerland.
Rabbi (Pastor) David Greenhood and his wife, Carol, relocated to Rapid City, SD from Nebraska in 1994. He has been the senior pastor at Parkview Evangelical Church since December 1994. Rabbi Dave’s primary responsibilities are: the weekend Biblical teaching, providing leadership to his church, working with the church staff and Board of Elders. Together with them, he casts the core vision, values and identity of the Parkview church. Part of his service to the church included relocating from a downtown, historic facility, to its new building, completed in May 2010. He works to make sure all of the Ministry Teams reflect the churches main vision and values in their ministries.
Pastor Dave and Carol have been married for 31 years. He loves Nebraska football and the game of golf. He is a messianic Jew, and is passionate about bringing the Gospel message of Jesus Christ to Jews and Gentiles alike.
