“For though we live in the body, we do not wage war in an uninspirational way, since the weapons of our warfare are not worldly, but are powerful through God for the demolition of strongholds.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 HCSB
King David showed an amazing fierce dependency – a deliberate transfer of trust from self to Yahweh. He humbly bowed before Him, trusted Him (and Him alone) to live, love and fight. “Fierce Dependency” means becoming weak before becoming strong, listening before speaking, following before leading and dying before living. It is ultimate submission before Yahweh; a pure humility through which we present ourselves as empty, so Yahweh can fill us. We present ourselves as weak, so He can become our strength; we become nothing, so that He can become our everything.
Those who war with fierce dependency understand that any and all good things come from Him living through us, and not from us ourselves. We are nothing; Christ is everything. Christ is the Creator, we are the creature. We are the clay, He is the potter. We are nothing more than a tool in His hand… and this means a sling and a stone in the hand of any submissive warrior is all that is necessary for victory! *
What toxic thoughts and/or emotions do you battle with everyday? Have you surrendered those to the Lord… completely? If not, why not?
It’s hard to walk through those thoughts and emotions in order to heal from them, we know… but freedom, peace and joy are worth it! Seek the heart of Yahweh in Scripture as much as you can… daily… pour your heart out in prayer. Seek godly counseling. In the midst of the daily battle, surrender to the Spirit of God your “rights” to the strongholds in your life… then, victory is yours! Thats fierce dependency!
Praise to our God, arrows to the enemy. Cover us in this day of battle!
